2012 Turley Zinfandel, Kirschenmann Vineyards, Lodi
Another Zinfandel made in the image of a very good Pinot Noir is the 2012 Zinfandel Kirschenmann. It exhibits a medium ruby color along with plenty of sweet raspberry and black cherry fruit, medium to full body, and an attractive, fleshy, velvety mouthfeel. (RP) (12/2013)

Sleek and jammy, with a lively center of crisp, fresh cherry fruit and ripe tannins. Offers notes of fresh sage and rosemary, plus smoky pepper and mineral details. (6/2014)
2012 Klinkerbrick Winery Old Ghost, Old Vine Zinfandel, Lodi
The Old Ghost represents the best zinfandel that Klinker Brick produces each year. Brambleberry fruit aromas intermingled with anise and exotic spice, echo previous vintages. Smaller berries harvested from this vineyard block, tend to offer more “skin to flesh”, providing a greater level of tannin and structure to this wine. Pair with your prime porterhouse or grilled lamb.
WINEMAKING STYLE
Approximately 3.5-ton/acre yield produced intensely flavored fruit
that was picked ripe and hand-sorted at the crusher into open-top
fermentors. A 3 day cold soak was followed by a cool fermentation for
7 days. The wine was then pressed and racked to oak barrels (25%
new French) for approximately 10 months barrel aging. The wine
completed a natural malolactic fermentation in barrel.
WINEMAKER’S COMMENTS - STUART SPENCER
“The 2013 is a classic old vine Zinfandel from century-old vines. A
deep saturated purple color, ripe berry aromas, and a concentrated
mid-palate deliver a broad range of rich fruit flavors. A hedonistic Zin
that stands alone or pairs well with grilled burgers, tri-tip, ribs, or our
personal favorite Chocolate Salad”
