Thomas Wilkins, Conductor

Eric Owens, Host/curator

Soloists, tba

In this moving evening of powerful music combined with rarely seen historical footage, we celebrate four American legends: Marian Anderson, William Warfield, Betty Allen, and George Shirley.

Eric Owens, host of the event and The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist in Residence, discusses "In Their Footsteps"

This performance focuses on the history many of these artists had with the Philharmonic and their influence on the generations of African American vocalists that followed.

The program will also include orchestral selections by composers such as William Grant Still.
