La has practiced yoga for over 20 years, and has taught all over the world.
La Verne Maxwell brings a wealth of experience as a yoga and meditation teacher to her students. Her style of teaching motivates students and helps them to learn and understand the true foundation of yoga. The classes are taught with humor, vibrancy, positivity and a passion for the art of yoga, whether a student is a beginner or advance, Ms. Maxwell is able to effectively assist the student in expanding their yoga practice from their point of experience. La Verne is a graduate of the University of Iowa with an undergraduate degree in Physical Education. She interrupted her Masters Degree program when she moved to New York City to pursue a career in dance and acting. Developmentally, Ms. Maxwell collected three prestigious yoga certifications. Two are from Nosara Yoga Institute and one from the world renowned Shri Dharma Mittra. Most recently La Verne was in India for about a year where she studied Ivengar and taught yoga.
