Item Description
Original, one-of-a-kind, hand painted Victorian floor cloth. Truly stunning piece of functional art made of heavy canvas with acrylic paints and several coats of polyurethane varnish (waterproof). This floor cloth was created by George Shinn for the Canvas Carpet Company, which we ran with his wife Phebe. George has designed more than 400 one-of-a-kind, intricately patterned floor cloths, painted using stencils. His work made it into the prestigious Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show and a similar show run by the Smithsonian. George has stopped actively producing floorcloths and now produces abstract paintings which have been exhibited at Muse Gallery. This particular work is signed by the artist under the company stamp.
Dimensions are 4'x4'.
