Item Description
Lilies are the flowers of the spiritually advanced. They are also the totem flowers of mothers (especially new ones), fertility and nurturing. Lilies are symbolic of unions, partnerships, and long lasting relationships.
Kristin Llamas is a painter and installation artist whose work is guided by community interaction. The artist’s medium can range from fine oil paintings to interactive public sculptures/installations spanning three-city blocks, however with each project Llamas relies on the community to direct the work. Llamas and her husband, Alfonso toured the country with The Nomadic Project for three years before settling and starting a family in the Nashville area in 2008.
Since then, she focuses on painting large scale works, along with private, community and public art installations, collaborations, and symposiums. She is the founder of an international art movement called The YOUnite Tour which spans 56 countries and along with visual art, Llamas has presented around the country about community interactive work, including a TEDx presentation in 2014 and has numerous awards and accolades for her work.
The writing on the egg is as follows from William Blake [1757-1827]:
The Lily
The modest Rose puts forth a thorn,
The humble sheep a threat'ning horn:
While the Lily white shall in love delight,
Nor a thorn nor a threat stain her beauty bright.
