ABOUT OUR WRITER: Daniel Mangin returned to California, where he’s maintained a home for three decades, after two stints at the Fodor’s editorial offices in New York City, the second one as the Editorial Director of Fodors.com and the Compass American Guides. While at Compass he was the series editor for the California Wine Country guide and commissioned the Oregon Wine Country and Washington Wine Country guides. Daniel also coauthored the most recent (2015) Central Coast and Napa-Sonoma-Mendocino editions of The California Directory of Fine Wineries.
