Item Description
Gift Card redeemable at The Cecil/Mintons
The Cecil is New York City’s first Afro-Asian-American brasserie. The Cecil was created by New York businessman Richard Parsons and Alexander Smalls, the noted restaurateur and chef.
Chef Smalls drew inspiration from his travels, exploration and study of the African Diaspora, developing a global sensory adventure in tastes and flavors. A fixture in Harlem’s widely-recognized emergence as a diverse and dynamic community, The Cecil is committed to connecting to Harlem and New York city through food, comfort and hospitality. The Cecil welcomes one and all to dine thoughtfully and joyfully.
Afro/Asian/American cuisine is a fusion of the best of what each of those distinct food cultures has to offer. It traces the global migration out of Africa through the influence of African spices, textures and cooking techniques, riffing on traditional Asian dishes, with a distinct American appreciation for cross-pollination of cultures.
Guided by this concept, Executive Chef Smalls and Chef de Cuisine Joseph, “JJ” Johnson create unique plates that combine the familiar with the unexpected. You won’t find food this imaginative and delicious anywhere else in New York!
