Item Description
Molas are undoubtedly the most famous art produced in Panama. The Kuna women have been sewing these wearable works of art for years. These embroideries use a technique referred to as reverse applique, where the top fabric is cut and folded back and another fabric placed behind open area and the two are sew together. Many are extremely intricate, some represent flowers or animals, and some are just designs created at the whim of the maker. The Molas offered in this auction are authentic, vintage, and used but very clean.
This auction is for a red background mola with numbers and other colors and measures 13.5" x 16.5"
