The Puritan may be Manchester's most famous restaurant, take-out spot and ice cream stand. They are also a popular spot for parties, weddings, etc.
Its ice cream is homemade; its chicken tenders boast a worldwide reputation. The Backroom restaurant is generally packed with friends, family and business associates ordering fresh seafood, steak tips, chicken and Greek specialties. The lounge offers a tantalizing selection of mudslide drinks.
Located on Hooksett Road, across from Livingston Park, the Puritan is open seven days a week.
Item Special Note
The Puritan history has a very deep and storied tradition. From its opening in 1917, the hard work and caring of the Pappas and Canotas
families have lent a tremendous amount of pride to the Puritan name.
"Chicken tenders" actually originated at the Puritan and to this day
are still the most requested dish on the menu! As well, the boneless breast of chicken, along with the famous special sauce (a creation of Charlie Pappas) is still the most asked about recipe on the menu.

The blood, sweat and tears that these gentlemen put into making the Puritan what it is today will never be forgotten. The Puritan is a part of the lives of so many - in 1990, Charlie Pappas estimated that over 50,000 greater Manchester residents had worked for the Puritan!
