Item Description
Spalting is free-form dark patterning created in trees by fungi. While it may appear in many woods, maple is especially known to take on this patterning creating an intriguing appearance in the wood.
This deep bowl was turned out of a very heavily spalted piece of maple. Its smooth finish complements the rounded, inward curving rim. The bowl is 11.5"x 6". It is entirely food safe.
Item Special Note
Bowl signed and dated by James E. Byrne, woodturner.
