Item Description
In 1912, Marius Taix Sr. opened the Hotel Champ d'Or at 321 Commercial Street, in what was then the French Quarter of Downtown Los Angeles.
In 1927, his son Marius Taix Jr. opened Taix Restaurant within the hotel, serving the now famous Roast Chicken Dinner for 50 cents. Marius Taix Jr. led the way for his sons, Pierre and Raymond to carry on the tradition of what is now the oldest family owned and operated French restaurant in Los Angeles!
Prices have changed, but the third generation of Taix's has insisted upon a reasonably priced menu, including wine. This item has a retail value of $100.00; enough to try the Ratatouille, Croque Monsieur, the famous Roast Chicken and more!
