Bid now for a Lacrosse class in the Fall of 2015 at the Yorkville Youth Athletic Associaion
In 1968 Harold Gibson founded the Yorkville Youth Council for boys in our area to compete in baseball and later basketball. In 1995 he joined with Fred Stimler and Carl Frischling to form the not for profit Yorkville Youth Athletic Association which now included girls. The goal was simply to have a fun place for children to learn the game from their parents. The program has grown from 200 players to our current 6,000 athletes who enjoy recreation, instructional, after school and travel programs. The goals are the same, to have fun playing sports. Our programs operate 7 days a week, for boys and girls in grades Pre-K through 12. Our children participate in sports, performing arts, and after school programs throughout the city. We exist to serve the children and families of New York City through quality programs that promote community and friendship. Our motto is Competition, Camaraderie, and Community
