Item Description
This wine won a prestigious tasting against the creÌÂ?me de la creÌÂ?me of the 2004 vintage blanc de blancs. Aged champagne that is drinking beautifully now. 2004 is a spectacular champagne vintage.
The Roland Champion Champagne Blanc Blancs Grand Cru 2004 Vintage is aged for 6 years (instead of the minimum 36 months required by law). This cuvee is made from 100% Chardonnay. This small grower is located in the Grand Cru Village of Chouilly, in the `Cote des Blancs`. The vineyard of Chouilly has a south, southeast sun exposure, which gives the chardonnay its delicate aromas.
"Hints of quince paste, honey, dried apricot and brioche mix in this finely knit and well-balanced Champagne. Vibrant and focused, with a minerally base note and an almond-laced finish. Drink now through 2024. 3,000 cases made. –AN"

"Pale yellow. Fresh citrus fruits, jasmine and licorice on the mineral- accented nose. Fleshly but lithe and focused on the palate, offering intense lemon and orange flavors and deeper notes of pear skin and honey. Gains weight with air and finishes with strong mineral cut and lingering floral nuances. This Champagne is aging slowly and will be even more interesting with five more years of bottle age. "

Founded in 1951 by Andre Champion, his son Roland expanded the company by purchasing some new land, and gave his name to the family house of Champagne. François is the third generation of the family and continues in his father’s footsteps. He is the enologist and currently runs the company. He farms their 18 hectares (44.5 acres) and blends wines resulting from different parcels and various vintages to elaborate his Cuvees.
