Item Description

Title & Artist:  "Cool Blue Cod" – by Ginny von Rueden

Medium & Size:  Acrylic and gold metallic paints on wood.  21 7/8" L x 8 5/8" H x 3/4" D.  For indoor display only.

Artist Statement:  As a watercolor landscape painter, I love the blues of Marblehead seas and skies. All over town, one sees the elegant golden cod. My cod combines those two colors in a folk art rendition of one of our town’s favorite icons. The town of Marblehead and many travel locations are the inspiration for my artwork, and I’m happy to be a part of the MFoA 50th birthday celebration.

Artist Biography:  I have been involved in the arts my whole life, both as a professional and as a volunteer. As an artist, I am an Artist Member of the Marblehead Arts Association and have been juried into many shows there and in the Marblehead Festival of Arts. My preferred medium is watercolor, and my paintings are in many private collections. As a professional, I am an interior designer and have a background in museum work and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

As a volunteer, I have served on the Marblehead Schools Arts Council, the Marblehead Cultural Council, the Marblehead Arts Association, and the Marblehead Museum and Historical Society. My involvement with the Marblehead/Grasse Town Twinning Committee led me to organize a painting trip to the south of France for Marblehead and Grasse artists to paint and go sightseeing together.

Hosting Business:  "Cool Blue Cod" is on display at Tory’s Jewelry, 106 Washingtion St., Marblehead, MA.

Winning bidder will receive a notification email with information on pick-up time and location.

If winning bidder requires shipping, winner's credit card will be charged a separate $24.95 fee to cover USPS ground and handling. Shipping is available within the U.S. only and must be requested within 7 days after receipt of the notification email.

Any cod purchased via "Buy Now" will remain on display at the hosting business through the end of the auction, and will be available for pick-up as detailed in the winning bidder notification email.

If winning bidder has not picked up cod (or provided shipping address) within 30 days after the close of the auction, cod will become the property of Marblehead Festival of Arts, Inc.
