Item Description
1933 Chicago World’s Fair “Century of Progress” Firestone Rubber and Glass Ashtray
Collectable rubber-tire and amber glass ashtray features the words “Firestone” imprinted on the side-wall of the miniature rubber tire, while “Century of Progress – Firestone – Chicago – 1933” is embossed in the amber glass center. This was a promotional item produced by Firestone for their participation in “A Century of Progress International Exposition” World’s Fair in Chicago in 1933, which celebrated the city’s centennial.
Measures 5.5” in diameter, and approximately 1.5” high.
A great gift, or personal purchase, for a Chicagoan or anyone who loves the city who enjoys a flair for the unusual, loves history and memorabilia, or has a thing for rubber.
Item Special Note
The rubber and glass of this item are in excellent to perfect condition. The rubber is supple and well preserved. There is a small “wax stain” on the rubber that may possibly be removed with a solvent. It does not detract from the beauty and character of the piece. . Shipping costs of $10 are included in the Value Estimate.
