Item Description
Win this 2 bottle lot of Quivera wine.
- 2012 Petite Sirah, Dry Creek Valley, from organically grown grapes
- 2012 Mourvedre, Wine Creek Ranch, from organically grown grapes. No one would ever call this wine refined. Interesting, complex, unique, certainly. The red and dark fruits initially greet you, leading to the traditional varietal notes of earth and dried Mediterranean herbs. The mid-palate is rich and the tannins slightly grippy. The classic Mourvedre rusticity becomes apparent in the long finish which tells you this is a wine that needs to be paired with a favorite dish. We suggest lamb, perhaps a boldly seasoned Moussaka or a rich vegetarian dish like Eggplant Parmesan. The prime enjoyment window for the 2012 Mourvedre is over the next 3 to 4 years, although this wine could age through 2019.
