This Two-day Life Strategies Workshop helps families with special needs answer the questions they have about the things that worry them the most:

• Applying for and keeping SSI - How to apply, When to apply, What is the total amount I should be receiving?
• Medicaid and waiver programs - Which program is right for you and your child's needs?
• Wills and Trusts - Why is it important and how do you set it up to make sure your children are protected?
• Estate Planning - It's not just a will and a trust.  Is my child taken care of for the rest of their life, not just mine?
• Learn about Change of Beneficiaries.  What else do you need to consider and include?
• Guardianship - What does it mean to have guardianship and do you need it?

Dates:  Saturday, August 29th (day 1) and Saturday, October 17th (Day 2).

The sessions are scheduled about 6 weeks apart to allow attendees to complete the "homework", including such items as working on change of beneficiaries, meet with lawyers on will, trust and guardianship (if needed), pull school documents and other information needed to complete the care plan.

Participants will leave the workshop with a "Big Green Book" that provides them all the tools they need to prepare a comprehensive care plan for their child. 

Location:  Both sessions are held at the Irving Bible Church at 2435 Kinwest Parkway, Irving, TX.

Item Special Note

The winning bidder will be contacted to coordinate pickup certificate at a central location in Allen, Texas designated by the Allen Special Olympics Delegation. 

Winning bidders who are not able to pick up an item from the central location will be responsible for shipping charges.
