Item Description

A Ruana is a long jacket like scarf that can be worn in several ways. This beautiful piece is hand-painted/dyed, one of a kind and 100% silk. It begins as all white and through a process of painting several layers of dye and then steam setting the dyes it comes to life.

It was chosen since it resembles Brown School colors.

Barbara Jean Weingart is the grandmother of a Brown Student and has been MFA in Textile Arts. She has been perfecting her craft and participating in juried fine craft shows and galleries for over 35 years.
