Item Description

Toast Chicken is the newest addition to the Columbia University neighborhood and is the third Toast to feed what used to be a starved region. It opened on Wednesday March 27. Brought to you by Larry Good, a native upper westsider, and his partner and builder, Misha Kliot. It like the other Toast’s will be feeding families, students, and all comers the Truck Stop Gourmet Food they are famous for.

The menu freshly tuned by Chef Sidik Traore with the Toast team is concise but packed with must try items.

Toast Chicken will specialize in you guessed it chicken. All of their birds will have lived the good life: raised naturally, free roaming, all vegetarian diet, and antibiotic free- you can taste the difference. “The Fried”- Brined overnight in a fresh lemon and jalapeno bath, buttermilk dipped and then twice dredged in matzo meal and fried in peanut oil is served with fire N ice pickles, house shake and pepper honey which make for a juicy crispy experience you don’t want to miss. “The Rotisserie”- marinated in garlic and herbs overnight then dusted before going on the spit is served with a house made pesto, a crowd stopper. Creamy Pot Pie, Chicken Toast (think shrimp toast done with chicken thighs),  and Fancy Deviled Eggs have you wondering what came first. Gourmet sides, Salads, and Not Chicken options cover all the bases.

Don’t forget the cake donuts-  Hot ones ($1) fried to order are the perfect end at this quaint neighborhood spot. SoCo ultra-premium Ice cream from the Berkshires is served in shakes or scoop form: this week’s special flavor Salted Caramel is worth saving space for.

Toast Chicken like the other Toast’s has a state of the art beer delivery system and with eleven taps of the best rotating selections along with a delicious House Made Red Sangria on tap that make for the perfect accompaniments to the menu. Toast Chicken also boasts one of the only Pagas Craft Tap Beer filing station’s in NYC, it uses CO2 to counter fill the Growler and make for a perfect foam free 64 oz. pour. Imported from Russia by Misha Kliot with love this beer delivery system is truly state of the art
