Item Description
TADA! provides arts education residency programs for students ages 3-18 in schools and community centers throughout New York City and local NY suburbs. TADA!’s unique model features team teaching; comprised of two Teaching Artists (TAs), a writer/director and a composer/music director who model adult collaboration in a way that many students may not experience in school or at home. TADA!’s team teaching method allows for more individualized attention tailored to students’ learning strengths and diverse learning styles. In addition TADA! utilizes original songs from the company’s canon of music that are written specifically to accommodate student vocal ranges and that speak honestly and realistically about the experiences of childhood on a wide variety of subjects.
By participating in a TADA! program, students learn in accordance with the newly implemented Common Core Curriculum, the NYC Blueprint for the Arts and NYS Learning Standards for the Arts. Our experience has shown that they also more fully understand their curriculum through arts-integrated instruction, learn how to work together as an ensemble, and experience the sense of accomplishment that comes from the final presentation of their work to their classmates, school community, family and friends.
