Item Description
Enjoy an old-fashioned railroading experience with a journey on historic rail routes in vintage passenger cars from the 1874 train station in North Conway Village to either Conway or Bartlett and back again on the Valley Train.
Gift certificate may be redeemed for two adult Valley Train Tickets, Coach Seating, and two children's Valley Train Tickets, Coach Seating good through the 2015 season, excluding September 12 to October 12, 2014.
The 11-mile, 55-minute roundtrip Conway excursion is ideal for visitors wanting a shorter train ride, especially those with young children. Travel south past the Moat Mountain Range and parallel
Route 16 before passing through farmlands and crossing Moat Brook, the Saco and Swift Rivers on the way to Conway.
The 21 mile, 1¾ hour roundtrip Bartlett excursion offers a longer and more relaxing train ride traversing “over the river and through the woods.” Sit back and enjoy the passing scenery through fields and woodlands, crossing the East Branch, Saco and Ellis Rivers on the
way to Bartlett.
Item Special Note
In 1974, after several years of hard work with many dedicated volunteers, Dwight Smith and his partners reopened the beautiful 1874 Boston & Maine railroad station and surrounding property in
the center of North Conway Village. Their goal was to preserve and share the New Hampshire railroading experience with future generations. The station that they so lovingly restored remains a village icon today.
In the beginning, there were 5½ miles of track between North Conway and Conway villages and only coach seating was available. They now operate two passenger excursion trains over three routes and 35½ combined miles, each with seating choices of Coach, First Class and Dining Car. They hope that, regardless of age or choice of travel accommodations, customers will enjoy a ride and feel transported back to a time when life was simpler and railroads fueled the economic growth of this country.
