Item Description
Three wines selected and imported by Golden Vines, a company specializing in traditional "old school" wines. Golden Vines imports wines from winemakers who are non-interventionist and believe the important work is done in the vineyards, not in the wine cellar.
About the Wines:
1. Sanfeletto
NV Brut (Conegliano)
11.5% ABV, 8g/l
Very fresh, luscious, sherbety-fresh fruit nose and palate. Exceptional intensity, but still elegant, focused and not in the slightest bit weighty. The best Gold in the tasting. Potentially a trophy winning wine.
2. Domaine de Mermes Merlot
Located in the Rhône-Alpes of south-central France, and which is named after the River Ardèche, this wine region covers a total area of 5,529km (2,135 square miles). Here grapes benefit from the Ardèche's Mediterranean climate and its geographical location, which can be considered a meeting point between northern and southern France. Unlike in Burgundy, the vines are not subject to uncertain weather conditions and the grapes are able to attain full ripeness each year. These factors, when combined with the region's high altitude of around 270 metres and its clay limestone soils, are the reasons behind the remarkably consistent quality, and balance of our Ardèche wines. They are characterised by southern fruit ripeness combined with a freshness and acidity more akin to the wines of Burgundy.
3. Domaine Bergeret Christian et Fille Cote de Beaune
This family-run domaine, based in Meursault, has 11 hectares of vines spread out in the appelations of: Volnay, Beaune, Savigny les Beaune, and Chorey les Beaune. The domaine was founded by Christian Bellang in 1974 and has been run by his son Christophe since 1990.
