Item Description
Enjoy a night of Shakespeare with this gift certificate for two adult general admission tickets to any show in Door Shakespeare's 2015 season featuring Romeo and Juliet and The Tempest. The show will take place in the Garden and Bjorklunden.
Door Shakespeare was created under umbrella of Northern Sky Theatre (AFT) in collaboration with Blue Circle Theatre in 1995. The first season produced in the Garden at Björklunden included “A Midsommer Night’s Dream” and “The Comedie of Errors,” which played in conjunction with the same acting company performing across the peninsula at American Folklore Theatre. In 1999, the organization became its own non-profit and has since produced 25 striking productions of classical theater by timeless playwrights including Shakespeare, Moliere, and Oscar Wilde in the Garden of Björklunden’s 405-acre estate on Lake Michigan in Baileys Harbor.
Under the leadership of Executive Director Amy J. Ludwigsen, Door Shakespeare’s presence in the local and regional community continues to grow and is enriched by educational programming, including Doorways: Creating Theater for Children, Pre Show Discussions as well as Family Nights, and Shakespeare Study Groups. Door Shakespeare’s productions have been recognized and ranked in the top 20 theatrical experiences in the state of Wisconsin in both 2013 and 2014 by The Milwaukee Journal Sentinal. The 2015 season will feature William Shakespeare’s ROMEO & JULIET and THE TEMPEST.
