Item Description
Calling all Next to Normal (and Feeling Electric) fans! This is your chance to win sheet music of "I Miss The Mountains", signed by writers Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey! This critically acclaimed show, (and song) started right here at NYMF as Feeling Electric, which reemerged as Next to Normal with productions at Second Stage and Arena Stage, followed by a run on Broadway that won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and 3 Tony Awards, including Best Original Score, Best Orchestration, and Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for Alice Ripley! In awarding the prize to Kitt and Yorkey, the Pulitzer Board called the show "a powerful rock musical that grapples with mental illness in a suburban family and expands the scope of subject matter for musicals."
Next to Normal is a story about a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effect that her illness and the attempts to alleviate it have on her family. The musical also addresses such issues as grieving a loss, suicide, drug abuse, ethics in modern psychiatry, and the underbelly of suburban life.
Item Special Note
Sheet music comes with a letter of authencity, signed by Dan Markley, the executive director and producer of The New York Musical Theatre Festival.
