Item Description
Knit some yarn, read a yarn!
Pati DuVall is a local artist and crafter, living in Chatham. When not painting local scenes outdoors or working in the shell shop, you'll find her digging clams, or collecting shells from local beches to create wreaths and other seashell gifts sold online and in local gift shops. www.capecodseashells.com
The ocean waters off Chatham aren’t the only place where Cape Cod residents and tourists will spot sharks this summer. Sharks – as in art created for local merchants – have again descended on Kate Gould Park in downtown Chatham. A Great Yarn’s dorsal-finned contribution to the festivities is a variation on a 1950’s French poster depicting a mermaid knitting a sweater for her tail. The poster was transformed into our version by local artist Pati DuVall. (The mermaid is knitting her tail sweater using A Great Yarn’s “Chatham Yarn” no less.) The opposite side of the shark depicts the same aquatic siren reading one of A Great Yarn’s books on the beach.
At A Great Yarn, 894 Main Street they love to knit & purl, and read a yarn or two, too! A combination yarn shop (with knitting classes) and used book store,
