Item Description

Agway of Chatham’s shark has a way with wood, and so much more!

Susan Wile is the co-owner of Agway of Cape Cod along with her husband of 40 years, Peter.  Her artistic process began as a child exploring art and crafts in many mediums with an emphasis on textiles, designing and sewing most of her own clothes.  collecting driftwood, shells and sea glass at the beach has lead Susan to create many gifts for family and friends to commemorate her love of the ocean.

Agway of Cape Cod began in 1993 as a small lawn, garden, and pet supply store built in Orleans by Peter and Susan Wile. The Wiles’ venture continued when they purchased Arbor Way Garden Center at in South Dennis in 2000. Six years later, they purchased the business Greensleeves Nursery at 1005 Main Street in Chatham. Now with three stores and nearly 100 employees during the busy spring season, the Wile family has settled in as a proud member of the mid- and lower-cape business communities.

Agway also maintains great relations with local non-profits and charities. They work with organizations such as the Animal Rescue League of Boston, Orleans Pond Coalition, Eastham Dog Owner’s Association, local Garden Clubs, hosting events and providing donations. Agway’s largest annual donation is their Mutt Mitt program. About five years ago, they addressed the issue of keeping our parks and beaches clean and promoting responsible dog ownership by donating dispensers and cases of Mutt Mitt dog waste pickup bags to local towns and organizations.
