About the Artist
Martha Mcaleer is a contemporary abstract artist who says, " I see the world at large in black and white but when I paint my world is vibrant with color." Because of her love of nature and her work on staying healthy, Martha has donated her paintings to support The Caumsett Foundation, North Fork Environmental, Interfaith Nutritional Network, Hospice of East Hampton, Southampton Hospital, The National Cancer Society and The Baiting Hollow Horse Rescue Farm with her solo show currently at The Gallery at the Quogue Library Martha is also the featured artist in Aces Magazine's March 2015 issue and a contributing Artist in Women of The World, "Think Big" on March 3rd at Nassau County Executive Offices. She exhibits and volunteer's throughout the year at Guild Hall, Southampton Art Association, East End Arts, Art League of Long Island, Watermill Museum and the Arts Alliance of East Hampton. Her paintings are mostly acrylic on canvas with her signature work consisting of bright bold colors with heavily layered impasto effects it made perfect sense to her that her series "The Collective" depicts a variety of styles each with as many complexities as the layers that she builds in her paintings.
