A conservator from Conrad Schmitt Studios will travel to the winning bidder’s historic theatre to perform a mini-investigation into its original colors and finishes.
You will discuss the history of the space with a trained professional and help design your custom investigation. Procedures may include the execution of exposure windows to reveal early stencil work, analysis of core samples to identify historic colors and examination of historic photographs and written descriptions.
This brief analysis of your space will offer an exciting glimpse of the past and help launch your restoration.
A charter member of LHAT, Conrad Schmitt Studios, Inc. has been privileged to provide award-winning decoration and restoration for historic theatres since 1889. Their on-site investigations of historic decorative schemes followed by sketches and samples have assisted theatres across the country in generating the enthusiasm and financial support to complete the restoration. From intimate opera houses to opulent atmospherics, CSS works in theatres of all sizes and styles across the country.
Item Special Note
- Bidders must be authorized to allow site work at theatre.
- Theatre must be located in the continental United States.
- Investigation limited to a total of 30 hours (including travel time, site work and lab analysis).
- Scaffold, if needed, to be provided by others.
- Visit will be based on a mutually agreed upon date.
- Expires August 1, 2016.
