This piece speaks to the time of the Industrial Revolution. A row of factory houses that seem to be part of a machine them selves, with large chimneys and billowing smoke. I like the repetative design element of the iconic houses.
The landscape is start and bleak -one chicken in the yard. The reference to a warm hearth is a bit tongue in cheek.
