Item Description

Randy Jones Barbecue BBQ.  Randy, the Padres pitching legend made a name for himself in the restaurant world by cashing in on his family's barbeque recipe. Jones tells us the half-pound, all-beef BBQ hot dog is his best seller on game day. Pulled pork and beef brisket are also fan favorites. Randy Jones Grill Carts will also dish out dogs this year.

Randy Jones has been producing a world-class gluten free barbecue sauce since he retired as a player.   Randy’s BBQ Sauce is handmade in small batches from his grandfather's original secret family recipe that he borrowed from his grandfather, who developed it in the 1930s in Weatherford, Texas. www.RANDYJONESBBQ.com

Randall Leo Jones (born January 12, 1950), nicknamed "Junkman", is a former Major League Baseball left-handed pitcher. He attended Brea-Olinda High School in Brea, California. He attended Chapman University in Orange, California.  He was known for his sinker and the large number of ground-ball outs he induced.

Jones was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the fifth round of the 1972 Major League Baseball Draft. He made his major league debut on June 16, 1973.

In 1974, Jones went 8-22 with a 4.45 ERA. He was able to turn it around in 1975 when he won 20 games and led the National League with a 2.24 ERA earning The Sporting News Comeback Player of the Year Award honors. His best season was in 1976, when he went 22-14 with a 2.74 ERA, winning the National League Cy Young Award and being named The Sporting News NL Pitcher of the Year. He was selected as the left-handed pitcher on The Sporting News NL All-Star Teams after the 1975 and 1976 seasons.

After his retirement, Jones' uniform #35 was retired by the Padres. Besides being involved in many philanthropic endeavors, Jones also is part of the San Diego Padres local radio and TV broadcast pregame and postgame shows.

In 1996, Jones was also inducted by the San Diego Hall of Champions into the Breitbard Hall of Fame honoring San Diego's finest athletes both on and off the playing surface.

Severl years ago, Randy initiated “The Randy Jones Invitational” - the first championship golf tournament of its kind in San Diego and an invitation only tournament – every team must earn their way in. Teams receive invites for finishing in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in the hundreds of charity golf tournaments held in and around San Diego County.   This results in a donation of over $10,000 to local charities in and around San Diego.
