Item Description
Already a celebrity, this handmade lamb's-felt Buddha appeared on the cover of this year's "DIY Dharma" issue of the magazine. The soft-sculpture was itself a DIY project, commissioned by Lion's Roar art director Liza Matthews from Halifax, Canada, needle felt artist Gwyneth Jones. Ms. Jones drew on traditional principles of thangka painting in arriving at the proportions for the sculpture. It was made while commuting between home and work; her sheep farm from which the felt comes and the local university where she is a science professor.
