Item Description
Try your hand at the ancient art of glassblowing! This item is a gift certificate for a glass class for one person at the Thames Glass Glassblowing Studio & Gallery in Newport, RI.
Make an ornament out of hot, molten glass with lots of help from a skilled glassblower. Matthew Buechner and his team of highly skilled glassblowers make all their glass completely by hand, in their Newport studio, using traditional hand tools and techniques.
Matthew designs all of the glass, trains the glassblowers, supervises the glassmaking, and designs and makes most of the equipment. Matthew's glass is sold at Thames Glass and in galleries, catalogs, and stores throughout the US. His glass is in the permanent collections of the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York and in the Frauenau Museum of Glass in Frauenau, Germany.

Item Special Note
Item includes USPS shipping and handling of gift certificate paperwork to one US address. NOTE: Return to Thames Glass two days after your lesson to pick up the glass you made (so that the glass has time to cool). Or have them ship your ornament to you anywhere in the continental US for $12 (add $2 for each additional ornament to the same address) - not included in auction item.
When your piece comes out of the oven, the staff will sign it with your name @ Thames Glass, so be sure to give them the correct spelling of the name you want on your glass.
