Item Description
From director Mark Elliott comes this three-DVD set:
Yangsi offers an intimate portrait of a young Tibetan boy who is recognized as the reincarnation of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, one of the most revered Tibetan Buddhist masters of the twentieth century. He is known as the “Yangsi”, “the one who has come again into existence”.
Eye of the Land tells the story of the making of the forty two foot high Tashi Gomang Stupa near Crestone, a remote area in Southern Colorado. A Stupa is an architectural rendering of enlightened mind and is used to contain the relics of great Buddhist teachers, transmitting the very essence of their wisdom, realization, and compassion for all beings.
Under the Bodhi Tree, filmed in the winter of 2004, features his holiness the XVII Gyalwa Karmapa as he leads a nine day prayer ceremony called the Kagyu Monlam. From his seat under the historic Bodhi Tree in Boghgaya , the place of Sakyamuni Buddha’s enlightenment, the Karmapa performs ceremonies and ritual empowerments, accompanied by high Lamas of the Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism.
Crestone Films makes feature-length documentaries that explore Tibetan Buddhism in relation to the modern world.
