Item Description
Own this original, high-fired piece of hand formed stoneware by renowned ceramist, Nina Liu. This piece is from a 2015 firing.
In 2010 Charleston Magazine named Liu as one of thirty-five visionaries “who have helped shape the city we love.” Liu is the recipient of the 2000 Three Sisters Award from The Committee to Save the City in recognition of “exemplary and unique contributions to the special character of Charleston” and the 2011 Elizabeth O’Neill Verner Governor’s Award for the Arts, the highest honor in the arts in South Carolina.
Liu has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions at venues such as the Jacksonville Art Museum in Jacksonville, Florida; the Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans, Louisiana; the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa; the Virginia Beach Art Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia; the Foothill Art Center in Golden, Colorado; the Roanoke Museum of Fine Arts (now the Taubman Museum of Art) in Roanoke, Virginia; and Mepkin Abbey in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Her work is in numerous private collections as well as the collection of the South Carolina State Museum.
