Founded in 1893, the St. Augustine Alligator Farm is one of Florida s oldest zoological attractions. For over a century, it has entertained millions of visitors, lured by the awesome presence of captive reptiles, long regarded in the popular imagination as at once mysterious, dangerous and frightening. A true piece of Floridana, the St. Augustine Alligator Farm has inspired popularization of the alligator in the national consciousness and helped to fashion an image for the state.

In recognition of the unique historical contributions which the Alligator Farm has made to the visitor industry in Florida and St. Augustine, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This is the story of the St. Augustine Alligator Farm s origins and its role of educating and entertaining visitors to Florida and St. Augustine.

• Open daily 9:00AM - 5:00PM, with extended summer hours. 
• Exciting wildlife shows every hour from 10AM - 5:00PM
• Explore the Land of Crocodiles; the only exhibit in the world that features 23 species of crocodilian from arounfd the globe
• See Rare White Alligators. Legend says they bring good luck to those that gaze upon them.
• Discover the real Florida along the elevated nature trail as it winds through a beautiful lagoon filled with alligators and native bird rookery
• Visit Maximo, the largest Saltwater Crocodile in the Eastern United States, along with his girlfriend Sydney
• Don't miss their Komodo Dragon, King Cobra, and a giant Reticulated Python
• See Red-Ruffed Lemurs from Madagascar
• New: Ancient fossil crocodile display, including some five foot long skulls of Deinosuchus and Sarcosuchus, 40' long prehistoric crocodilians that ate dinosaurs!
