Item Description
Dorothy Spangler's oil transparencies are unique in that they are an entirely new methos of painting developed by the artist. They have the warm, deep colors of oil and the washed-in spontaneity of water colors. The technique is aptly named, for the paintings have a live transparency that gives the effect of light radiating from within. They are rendered in a limited number of themes.
Dorothy Spangler has been represented throughout California and the United States by major galleries and has won numerous awards in outstanding exhibits. Her paintings are in many distinguished private and corporate collections, both in the United States and Europe. A lecturer and joror, she is a member of the Society of Western Artists, board member of the Los Altos Art Club and is listed in the Registry of United States Living Artists.
