Testimonials:

"Before I started taking (Writers’ Program) classes, I didn’t know a lot about the structure and mechanics of screenwriting.  Extension has given me a solid grounding in these skills.” – Iris Yamashita (screenwriter of Letters from Iwo Jima, Academy Award nominee, Best Original Screenplay)

“The Writers’ Program courses at UCLA Extension offer the best of both worlds: academic excellence and the real-world experience of accomplished screenwriters.” – Stuart Beattie (screenwriter of Australia; Pirates of the Caribbean:  Curse of the Black Pearl; Thirty Days of Night; Collateral)

 “The UCLA Extension Writers’ Program was essential in helping me find my voice as a writer and developing the skills needed to succeed in the business.  I urge any screenwriter, regardless of their skill level or experience, to take advantage of the wide variety of classes the Writers’ Program has to offer.” –Bryan Cogman (Emmy Award Winner, Producer on Game of Thrones)

Any awards I've been fortunate enough to win, and any skill I've developed as a writer and an editor, I can trace back to the lessons I learned at the UCLA Extension Writers’ Program." – J. Ryan Stradal {author of Kitchens of the Great Midwest (Viking, July 2015), winner of the 2014 William Faulkner – William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition, and editor of the anthology California Prose Directory 2014: New Writing from the Golden State}
