Item Description
Commercial fishing has long inspired visions of the life of those settlers who came to the Lake Superior region in the early 1800’s seeking a better life for their families. Little remains of those early days. A few lonely fish houses clinging tenaciously to the rocky shoreline give us a glimpse of what life was like. This unique, one-of-a-kind lamp was made by Forest Floor, local artisans Josh and Kathy Rice of Grand Marais, MN (also well-known for fine cuisine and baked goods at The Pie Place in the Harbor Inn). The lamp is hand-crafted using antique wood net floats found on the shores of Lake Superior. The driftwood base and hand carved and painted fish decoy add color and texture to a lamp that will surely enhance any room in your house or cabin.
