Item Description
This print is an original etching printed and published in 1978 by the author of "The Tin Drum." Günter Grass (1927-2015) was a German novelist, poet, playwright, illustrator, graphic artist, sculptor, and recipient of the 1999 Nobel Prize in Literature. This image is print of a flounder with Günter Grass' face incorporated as part of the fish.
Printed in an edition of 150 prints. Signed "Günter Grass" and dated '78 in the viewer's lower right margin in pencil. Inscribed "E.A." ensuite opposite. 15.5" x 20" to margins; 19.5" x 25.5 sheet size. Mounted under glass with a mat, in a stepped wood molding to 30 1/4" x 36." Condition: good. Provenance: Suzanne Gross Gallery, Philadelphia.
