Item Description

Chef Bob Waggoner and Chair of the School of the Arts Department of Music, Edward Hart have collaborated to curate an evening that will appeal to both culinary and musical sensibilities. Each of the four courses created by Chef Waggoner will be in perfect complement to each of the musical selections performed by current students in the Department of Music. Chef Waggoner and Dr. Hart will create the evening together - music inspiring flavor and vice versa. Consult with them to create a one-of-a-kind experience for you and your closest friends! This opportunity is available for 16 guests for a 6 p.m. dinner on the evening of February 20, 2016.

Chef Bob Waggoner has played a lead role in defining Charleston's amazing culinary scene.  Fusing Lowcountry cooking and his own french-influenced technique, Chef Bob creates contemporary new southern cuisine using seasonal and regional ingredients. He has captured critical acclaim by producing menus that combine unusual ingredients with classic techniques. He hosted the PBS series "U Cook with Chef Bob" and "U Travel with Chef Bob". Now Chef Bob is moving out from the restaurant world, but he is certainly not leaving the kitchen! Drawing from the wealth of artisans of the Lowcountry, from woodworkers to artists and cabinet makers, Chef Bob has created a stunning showcase kitchen in downtown Charleston with wood floors, a u-shaped quartz countertop, wine cellar, and even a grand player piano.

Merging the intense focus of a conservatory with a broad education in the liberal arts, the music program at the College of Charleston is further enhanced by its location in a city renowned for its cultural heritage and devotion to the performing arts. Strong academic preparation coupled with superior musical training places our program in a unique niche. Music majors, who can choose to concentrate in performance, theory/composition, or music history, benefit from small class sizes, ample practice and performance space and one-on-one tutelage from faculty.
