Item Description

This Lord Buddha from Dharma Sculpture is seated on a double lotus base in the gesture of granting favors and blessings to devotees also known as varada mudra. His broad, majestic and serene face has lowered eyes that suggest contemplation.

This piece reflects the superb craftsmanship of Javanese metal workers and bears all the hallmarks of Javanese sculptural style, as evident in its round head. The statue has a rich antique patina and was hand crafted in the island of Java, Indonesia.

Dharma Sculpture is a quality conscious company that specializes in Buddhist sculpture from Asia, particularly Nepal, Thailand and Indonesia. They purchase only the highest quality pieces for their online gallery. Today with so much that is mass produced it can be difficult to distinguish between quality, hand made pieces and mass produced icons. Each of their Nepalese and Indonesian statues is carefully hand produced.
