Item Description

Folding Step Stool, made from the uncommon wood of the Kentucky Coffee Tree that grows at Pendle Hill, and from red oak. The Kentucky Coffee Tree wood is stained with a mixture of two Minwax penetrating finishes, and the whole step stool is protected by a total of up to five coats of glossy and satin Minwax Wipe-on Polyurethanes, followed by two coats of Trewax Paste Wax.

Artisan: David Camp

David is a retired teacher in Friends schools and a school bus driver.  He first encountered Pendle Hill in 1964 when living there for a month while the American Friends Service Committee ran an orientation for a small group of young adults, including David, who were volunteering to work for two years in India.  David served on the Pendle Hill Board in the 1990's.  Since 2011, he has volunteered twice weekly helping maintain the grounds at Pendle Hill.
