Violinist Hilary Hahn draws on her all-encompassing musicality for the fourth of Vieuxtemps' virtuosic, emphatically Romantic violin concertos.
The Belgian violinist Henri Vieuxtemps was a well-travelled virtuoso from an early age. In his late 20s he lived in Russia as soloist to the Tsar, where he composed his innovative Fourth Violin Concerto, which Berlioz called a "magnificent symphony for orchestra with principal violin."
