Grab three friends to explore the living world of Point Reyes National Seashore with West Marin writer and naturalist Claire Peaslee.
We'll start our half day excursion with coffee and treats from The Bovine Bakery in Point Reyes Station. Afterwards we will travel to Limantour Beach and Estero to investigate, listen and learn from this dynamic landscape and shore. We will be in search of raptors, invertebrates, mammal tracks, and the spellbinding dynamics of tides and waves. Charismatic megafauna that we may encounter include seals, porpoises and maybe even whales depending on the season. We will come into deep connection with our environment, using all five senses -- like the animals we are!
Claire Peaslee is a naturalist, writer, editor, graphic designer, and improvisational theater artist whose home is Point Reyes Station. She produces the Quarterly Journal for Point Blue Conservation Science and sometimes contributes to Bay Nature Magazine.
