Item Description
Unique soda fired porcelain cup. Soda firing is an atmospheric firing technique where "soda" is introduced into the kiln near top temperature. The soda vaporizes and is carried on the flame throughout the kiln. The soda vapors create a glaze when it lands on a piece. Wherever the flame travels - so does the soda. This piece contains crystalization (which you will find on the inside) and some crazing (or cracking) on the outside. This particular cup was glazed with 3 different glazes. One in the inside which is also applied to the outside and 2 others on the outside. The flame and soda did the rest. It Is also machine washable and food safe.
