Item Description

14" x 12"

Framed & Ready to hang
Gorgeous water color figure piece. Gentle and classic, the earthly tones hug the stoic body producing an elegant piece suitable for any home or office. Must have!

Gail Armstrong, a native Rhode Islander, is primarily a landscape painter who works mainly with oils and watercolor. She grew up climbing rocks, exploring, and picnicking in many of the places she now paints. Being sentimental, Gail tries to preserve memories of places, before development and time change and erode them. She prefers to work outside when weather permits, then does finish work back in the studio. This allows her to quickly capture light and mood of the landscape, and to take reference photo's for later.

Gail received an MAE from Rhode Island School of Design in 19080 and a BFA from Hartford Art School in 1972. She taught art for over 30 years, mainly at North Kingstown High School, and now teaches Water Colors at the Providence Art Club.

Gail is an artist member of Spring Bull Gallery in Newport and the Providence Art Club, and she is also a signature member of the R.I. Watercolor Society. Other memberships include the Cape Cod, Wickford, and South County Art Associations, and the Newport Art Museum and Artist's Guild. Gail has exhibited and recieved awards in numerous open juried shows.

Gail's Work is reguarly on exhibit at Spring Bull Gallery in Newport, and can also be seen at her studio in Deacon Taylor House on Gallery Nights, by chance.  She is also an art teacher at the Providence Art Club.
