Item Description
"Near the storage areas where women prisoners of Auschwitz II (Birkenau) sorted clothes of execution victims iss this open field ("Kanada"). When the gas chambers' capacities were exceeded, pyres and disposal pits were utilized here.
Before the camp opened as a memorial, it was decided that no religious symbols would be displayed. However, in recent years, unknown visitors erected these wooden Stars of David -- they were never removed."
