Laura White Carpenter holds a degree in Art Therapy. She has lived on four continents, including volunteering with the Peace Corps in Ghana and with Health Volunteers Overseas in Bhutan. Her experiences living in diverse conditions and climates vividly inform her work. She has exhibited paintings, ceramic sculpture and mixed media work in numerous venues in MA and RI.
“Skyline” was completed during the hottest weeks of this past summer, with the intention of melding the dichotomous concepts of architecture and gesture. The artist uses a traditionally cool pallete of blues with sparks of yellow, to surprise the viewer with a sensation of warmth, vibrancy and movement.
