Monotype
Connie Babian Grab holds a BFA in Advertising Design from Rochester Institute of Technology, and an MFA in Visual Design from UMass Dartmouth. She has recently exhibited her work at Zullo Gallery, the Attleboro Arts Museum, the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Art Gallery, and at Studio Smooch, which hosted the first group show for the members of Collective Marks. Connie also teaches Publication Design at BCC.
“Window Box 1” is the first in an ongoing series of monoprints begun in 2015. In this series, Connie juxtaposes her signature found-leaf imagery with a single empty square placed in the same position in each print; all the other elements change. Although her imagery evokes the natural landscape, Connie often finds deeper meaning in the spatial relationships that emerge as her compositions develop.
