Katherine Honey states that while it is wonderful to create a work of art that is admired, often her reason for painting is to be engaged in a process that is so encompassing that it is freeing. Like a relaxing vacation, painting renews her. Whatever priorities, emotions, and concerns existed before she raises her brush disappear. Hours evaporate and she is refreshed and ready to focus on what needs to be done.
“Retreat” Sometimes I travel to familiar places that provide a sense of well-being and renewal. My travels have been by various modes of transportation including my imagination. Retreat is a reminder of the places I have traveled where I was welcomed by caring people, warmed by the sun, and found cool retreats in inviting abodes.
